WatchProSite :
- I’ve had my Fifty Fathoms [ref. 5015-1130-52] for a little over two years now and even since new the bezel has taken more effort than I believed to be required to turn it. Recently, the bezel became tougher and tougher to turn and finally something broke and it now rotates in either direction. I’ve read here on TZ and on other forums that this has happened before especially on earlier models. While in Scottsdale last week I stopped by a Blancpain AD and asked to see their brand new FF in the case. The bezel turned with a very positive click. The feel of the bezel was as it should have been. I then asked to see the other FF in their case and that one felt very rough. The bezel took quite a bit of effort to turn. I understand there will be manufacturing tolerances allowed but there was a marked difference in these bezels. This bezel felt like mine when mine was new. There was yet another FF in the case (the no radiation dial) and it felt different as well. Better, but still not as good as the newest (judging by the case numbers) FF. This latest FF has a very positive feeling and « well built » feeling even over the other FFs in the case (and they were all brand new). The AD said that the FF with the best bezel feel was the newest one they received. My guess is that Blancpain silently fixed this issue with a new part. I left my FF with the AD to send off to Blancpain in New Jersey for repair. The AD was not familiar with this issue and had not yet received one to repair. I will report back with how it fairs after repair. I look forward to having a useable bezel once again. I’ve always felt that the bezel was the weakest [operating] link on my FF. a écrit:

- Fifty Fathoms bezel problem Hello! I would like to ask something about my Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Today I noticed the bezel it’s broken, I can move the bezel in both directions. Some people told me, in the first »new » Fifty Fathoms, the bezel have some problem… My Fifty Fathoms is the number 299 Do you think I can remove the bezel by my self and try to repear it? I mean, maybe is like the Rolex Gmt, very easy to remove and to fix. Thank you for your help a écrit:

- OK – so I got my new FF over the weekend and fell head over heals! As often is the case in the early stages of a romance, you overlook the little things as you are so overwhelmed with the total package . . . Anyway, today at work I was showing off the watch to a friend – a friend who is obviously more detailed oriented that I am . . . and his immediate observation, after ‘nice watc’, was that the diamond on the bezel was not properly aligned with the 12 (the tick mark at high noon!) I looked at it and thought that perhaps we just needed to click it around once to get it to align perfectly. Right? Needless-to-say the sapphire bezel is a fairly prominent feature of this watch so it would be of paramount importance for the Blancpain QC folks to check that out before it leaves Switzerland! But no such luck – after clicking it around once – and then again, it landed in the exact same spot. The bezel was tight and precise – but nonetheless – the wrong spot! The bottom point of the diamond on the bezel lands right in the middle of the two tick marks for zero and one minute. Ok – so some might say – what’s the big deal? (Perhaps not many on this board . . .) Thoughts? Advice? Is this sort of issue common? (I did see a similar posting several weeks ago – can’t remember the exact watch – but an adjustment was needed.) Is this something I should be concerned with? Is this a warranty issue or more of a defect in workmanship? Any advice would be appreciated. (No pic right now as the macro lens is packed away . . .will get one soon – especially if this needs to be followed up on.) Thanks! a écrit:

Point rassurant >
BEZEL UPDATE
It’s my understanding that BP will upgrade the bezel spring on the early FF Sports gratis. They did mine (for the prior owner), and the bezel clicks are very positive and precise if maybe a bit rougher than I prefer.18 novembre 2013 à 6h04 #420002295477Bruce.wayne
