- I managed to get it up and running. And, it runs pretty darn well. It is 28800 vph, unfortunately.

It has an interesting system for hacking. Here is a picture with three bits labeled.

1. This is the lever that stops the movement. The steel lever catches the plastic thingie on the top of the 3rd wheel.
2. This is the spring that pushes the lever so that it catches the plastic thingie (1) on the third wheel.
3. This is the bit the stem pushes. When the stem is in all the way in (running), the end of the stem pushes lever so that the other end doesn’t catch the plastic thingie on the 3rd wheel. When the stem is out, the spring (2) pushes the lever so that it is in a position to catch the plastic thingie (1).
The way it works is that when the stem is pulled out, the 3rd wheel, which drives the seconds (via the double, stacked, wheel — the dark one in the very first picture of the thread) continues to turn until the steel lever catches the plastic thingie. Assume that one did the right thing and initially put on the seconds hand so it pointed at 12, with the movement in the stopped position. When one pulls out the stem, the seconds will continue to run until the lever hits the plastic thingie, which will be at 12. So, pulling the stem out to the set position means that the seconds hand will continue to run to 12, then stop.
It is simple and pretty elegant.
Best wishes,
