""This likely happened partially because the strap was a non OEM strap. On the OEM rubber strap and bracelet the springbar is housed inside what is basicly a metal tube. Tension on the strap would have to shear the springbar at the ends to free the watch.

On a nylon strap, tension applied to the strap can build in the middle of the springbar and make it bend like a u where the tension is highest. Because the springbar is not "encased" inside a metal end link or tube it can bend easily until it slips out of the watch.

An easy improvement for those who like to use nylon straps is to buy 22 (or grind 24mm panerai style strap tubes to 22mm) and use them over the springbars to reinforce them. This can only be done on watches with drilled lugs.""
