This is Justin from OMT.
I received quite lot of emails about the discussion. And I though we should response to the question.
Firstly I want to express our thankful to everyone who join into the discussion.
We are getting attention and those discussion are very constructive to seize true beauty.During the design.
We are not only simply change the font type, index width, size something.
We think it’s not really design about.
We deconstruct it, and then we re-construct it.
Let says the bezel.
May be some of members doesn’t agree, but for us to speak. The marker there is a symbol. the function is quick distinct the marker.
Rectangular, star or circle. Any sharp actually has no special functional meaning on Explorer-II.
So we believe combine of difference elements is not too much effect the function.
And The another reason, we use the very sharp triangle not circle not dull triangle is because we used quite lot of square sharp elements
to achieve the vintage taste design aim. Like the indices on dial, Date window shape, font type on bezel etc.
We hope the sharp triangle can balance and rich the design. And We believe those design should be connected. And then some of members mentioned about uniform.
Our though is that uniform is one kind of beauty. Mix and match can bring another kind of beauty.
There are lot of difference kind of theory out there.
And We are not totally agree Uniform design is equal to everything completely same.
